Hi. I am coming to the States at the end of October, going to Arizona for 4 days(Top Fuel Hydro Finals)and then going for a drive and ending back in LA 2 weeks later. What I need help with is that I would like the opportunity to fire some Big bore Rifles, any Big Nitro Express, or similar, and hopefully a 50 Cal Rifle. I currently own a Custom Deluxe 460 Weatherby with a 2x7 Kahles on it which I have had for 20 years, and have shot everything from Scrub Bulls,Pigs,Buffalo and even a Feral Cat,using 124 Grns 4350, and a 500 Grn Hornady SP with devistating results, and have put approx 150 rounds through it. I am of course willing to pay for the privelage, if available, to fire some of these rifles. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Baz. Cairns, Nth Queensland, Australia

Baz I'm just curious how long your cases last with the 124gr/500gr loads. When I bought my very first rifle at 1981 it was .460 Weatherby made in Japan and one pack of 20 factory ammo and 200 cases. After I finished the factory ammo I reloaded the whole lot of 220 cases with Federal 215 primers, 125gr of 4350 and 500gr Hornadys (both Rounds and Solids). At that time I had absolutely no idea about reoading and all the technical bits like case volume, bullet seating depth effecting the case volume, the pressure so on. I red through the Hornady Reloading book but I choose to ignore 99% of what was in the book. The only thing I was concern was to make sure there is no powder space left in the case and more powder is always better than less powder. It took me about a month to get through the 220 lot and with the muzzle break it had nice bang, welcoming recoil to go with it, it was devastating on everything and I was as happy as a pig in shit. It came to reloading time. WHAT A SURPRISE the primers did not need any pressure what so ever to come out of their pockets and the new primers could be pushed in by hand. The whole lot of the 220 cases was totally ruined. It broke my heart when I had to drop to 122gr with the RN softs and 120gr with RN solid if I wanted to get more than one reload out of the cases. I don't have to tell you that from that time on I've started to take care of every minute detail when it comes to reloading. Pyzda

If you make it to Colorado Springs, I've got a 500 Jeffery, you can shoot. PM me if you'll be in the area. Regards, Chuck "There's a saying in prize fighting, everyone's got a plan until they get hit" Michael Douglas "The Ghost And The Darkness"
