What are the best mounts to use if you were going to put a Leupold 2,5-8x36 on a CZ550 in 375H&H and want the scope mounted as low as practically possible? Thanks

in alphabetical order: Talley and Warne. I have a couple rifles with the Warne, and one with the Talleys. Both stay on the rifle and do not move around. Rich DRSS

Here is a photo of a Leupold 1.5 to 5 on my CZ550 in 416 Rigby to give you an idea of the height of Talley mounts. It's a pretty close fit for bolt handle clearance but I suppose a lower mount could still work, depending on the diameter of the eyepiece. A photo on the bolt handle side of the rifle: With the MacMillan straight comb stock the scope height is just about perfect for me. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I've used Tally and Warne and I don't find much difference except price. Pick the one you like. Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing.

Yep, That is the way to go. Medium height, Talley or Warne is as low as you can go, with the 2.5x-8x Leupold, and the tube length on that scope is just barely long enough to make it work, on the CZ 550 Magnum. I like it. I am sure I have posted pics of such a setup here before ...
