At 70 I have a policy, it that sucker kicks my finger out of the trigger guard or my hand off the grip, it's too damn much gun for me...I don't need it and anything on DG over the 458 lot is merely "proud flesh", only the medical group and cowboys will be familiar with that one!

In my country of origin, Belgium, there's also something called "dumb flesh. That's what parents tell their kids comes off when they get a skinned knee. "The dumb flesh has to come off first." is the loose translation. Never did figure out whether that was supposed to console or not. I determine how good a session I had at the range by how long it takes for my shoulder to feel normal again. The "10 rounds with Mike Tyson" session I described on the Black Powder forum took from Sunday to Thursday.

Touching off a full house 400 grainer in my 416 Rigby is like having your own private earthquake. After 10-20 rounds under the tin roof, the benches around me are cleared off!!! It is teeth and brain rattling, and later the headache starts, and it is fun. I get folks that ask what are you shooting, I offer to let them shoot a few, so far, no takers. After this, my 375H&H is nothing!!! Have fun and pull a few more triggers111 Jeff in Texas
