.500 Jeffery load data needed
I have always shot the 535 grain Woodleighs in my .500 Jeffery. I would like to try some 600 grain Woodleigh bullets. Anyone have a good starting load with RL15 and a 600 grain bullet? I was thinking right around 105 grains.

105 grains of RL 15 = 2250 ft/sec with 600 grn Barnes bullet, 108 grains of RL15 = 2303 ft/sec with 600 grain Barnes bullet. right off the rifle loading tables on this forum

Guys, I found a whole bunch of load data at Real Guns. Here is the link:

http://www.realguns.com/archives/157.htm

There is load data here for a 600 grain bullet in excess of 2400 fps. Good grief!

bigdoggy:

After looking at the data on the Real Guns link above, I don't think the 108 grain load of RL15 would be any problem whatsoever. In the article, the author uses 117 grains of RL15 and manages to drive a 600 grain Woodleigh over 2400 fps!
