Well, I contacted them, and they said it would fit, and withstand the recoil. Has anyone tried one

It seems like it might make life much easier -- I like the way the Hogue stock on my Alaskan fits me.

I have one on a .458 Win Mag. Not enough rounds to show much (less than 20) but so far so good. It does have a very strange feel when in recoil and I would absolutely not try to shoot it with a scope on it. I had one on a .300H&H and it did not seem to collapse in recoil anywhere near as much as the .458 Win Mag. homer It is definitely something you can get used to, it just feels different. I love the feel of the Hogue stocks in terms of the grip you can get on the overmolded rubber.

Unless they make one specific for the RSM Ruger, the mkII version cannot work. Two completely different animals.

Hmm... Well, they assured me it fits, but said some of the rubber in the barrel channel might need to be scraped a little, if it has a "really heavy barrel contour"...

I believe there are three generations of RSM. My understanding is the first generation had the most massive barrel and the third or current generation has the lighest, .750" at muzzle I think. RIP knows the exact deminsions for each generation of RSM.

Agree. Different hole spacing and recoil plate on the RSM versus real recoil lug on the action of the Mk II, etc.

Barrel contours and barrel band inletting through the forearm (Generation One RSM), etc., would be of less importance, and easily allowable with fitting ... except the rubber coating on Hogue stocks with Knoxx modification might not take to the scraping, sanding, drilling, fitting, etc., in the forearms. But cosmetics in rubber don't matter much anywho.

Sumbuddy at Knoxx don't know or don't care to list an RSM specific model.

As mentioned above, I don't think I would want to stock (and shoot!) a scoped big bore with one Eeker

Have you tried a Limbsaver pad on your Lott? It really helped on mine.

John

Haven't bought a Lott yet, due to recoil sensitivity -- I did have a limbsaver on my 375 H&H Ruger #1, and I could only handle it for a few shots. (But I actually enjoy shooting my 375 Ruger...)

I was looking at the Knoxx as a way to be able to tolerate shooting a bigger caliber.
