What should my BeLL cases measure?
My sized cases measure 2.850
My original Kynoch measures 2.865 as best I can measure a loaded round.
Nominal seems to be 2.86?

Rusty,

Using information from Ray Atkinson and not having any problems in the last 4 years in my rifle.....

I trim mine to 2.84". That is for both Bell and Norma brass.

For a cartridge that is supposed to have extensive stretching mine sure don't seem to move much.

The new Hornady Reloading Manual has the .416 Dakota which is supposed to be a full length 404 Jeffery case. They show the case as 2.850.

Rusty,

I have both the A-Square and Norma manuals...

The A-Square manual list the trim to length at 2.865" and a "pictured" length (I assume max. length) of 2.875".

The Norma manual has "pictured" length of 2.875"..I assume this would be max. length and trim to length would be same as A-Square @ 2.865".

Edit...Norma and A-Square both list their specs. as based on CIP standards.

If you need any more info. from these manuals just let me know...

Looking forward to seeing the pics of your 404...What engraving is Roger Kerr doing for you??

Thanks, Jim
