Is there a post here about the 2020 shoot? I tried several searches and found nothing. I don't go on facebook and found nothing much on the website, I was curious as to how it was and would love to see pic's or video's.

The annual DSC Big Bore Shoot was held in early June. It was great to be able to connect in person once again. We owe a special thanks to Heym for sponsoring this great event.

Not much video, but looks fun. What's the course of fire, just the moving target? How far? Who won?

Thank you C. Mason

I was unable to make it this year but I’m fairly certain the course of fire was the same as in years past, shooters are divided into groups of 6-7, everyone has the opportunity to take a couple of “sighter” shots at about 75 yards, then all shoot for score...3 shots at 75 yards off of sticks, then 3 shots offhand at 25 yards and finally the moving target at about 20-25 yards. I don’t know who “won” and it is a lot of fun.

I bet!

Might be a good idea to send an invitation to Cal and George.

By the looks of it they certainly need the practice! rotflmo

The top three were Steve Minore, Mickey Adcox and John Weaver. Steve shot a perfect score in the first three rounds and then hit the bullseye in the moving target to secure the top spot. There was a 5-way tie for 2nd that was settled with a shoot off: 1 shot each at the moving target, closest to the center wins.

Who knows maybe one year I will attend both this shoot and the Safari challenge in Libby! I had the pleasure of meeting Corey at the AR room in Dallas last January.

Interested in starting a big bore shoot in az. been to a couple (Libby and here in PHX). All were fun but in need of improvement imo from my comp background. Looking for suggestions and what courses of fire and props you have seen from big bore shoots and big bore training. I should probably start a new thread but I figured its time to get the big guns out in Phoenix...

The African shooters probably have more info and suggestions and I would like to make it a benefit for some anti poaching outfit.

Thanks in Advance

I had someone with facebook find me this video and tried to watch it, but it rapidly deteriorated into that chop-chop-chop-chop rapid cuts nonsense, so I had to shut it off. I would like to have seen some of the big doubles in action.

Mr. Mason, thank you for the link to the video. Wish it had been much longer.
