I am going to make up some reduced loads for my for my wife to start shooting, a .375 H&H. (not sure yet) She is 5' 3" tall and 115 lbs. My buddies wife shoots one and is about the same size. He makes up reduced loads for her and that is all she ever shoots. When she shoots at a real animal they are full house loads, and he says in the excitement she never knows the difference. What are your thoughts on this issue. My wife seams determined to do this for a trip to Africa in our future. Thanks for the time Maddog

Hi MADDOG, If your wife is that keen make sure that she has a rifle of her own that fits her well. Put on a Pachmayer F990 pad and start with medium loads working up to the loads that she is comfortable with. I would bet that they would be full 375 H&H loads or very close to it with that pad. If she doesn't have her own rifle at the moment look for one with a straight inline stock that has a decent size butt area to the stock. You can get away with a little weight reduction for her with the F990 pad. Take good care, Dave
