I took my daughter with me for a quick trip to shooting range today. I was shooting my 450 NE when my daughter asked me if she could shoot it. I thought about it for a moment and for some reason I said yes. Now, let it be known that my daughter is only 4yrs. Due to her small stature, it translates into me having to hold the gun and my daughter pulling the trigger from the side. SO, I loaded a round, put a death grip on the rifle, and then instructed my daughter to pull trigger. The recoil was severe enough for the trigger guard to hit my index finger with some ‘authority’. Since the incident, my finger has become quite swollen and had turned every shade of purple that you can imagine. My daughter got a kick out of it though, she has asked me several times since coming home “daddy, when can we shoot your gun again.” Lesson learned. "though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression." ---Thomas Jefferson

As the saying goes - If you are going to be stupid, you have to be tough. Sounds like you should be looking for a Chipmunk 22 in the near future. It may not be fun NOW... but in 20 years you will look back and think that was one of your "better" decisions, I bet...

Once the seed is planted you never know how it will turn out. Especially with daughters. But keep nurturing it. Before long you may have one of these on your hands My daughter shooting a 600 overkill Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com

Just one big step backwards with left foot (maybe a hop with both feet off ground) and the video was cut while the right foot was in the air, second step sideways to widen base so as not to fall down? Free-recoil ft.lbs exceeds body weight in pounds, eh? Not bad at all, for something comparable to Tony Makris double-discharging a 600 NE. But she did better than Tony's surprise attack. She was ready and willing. Did she want to shoot it a second time?

My older daughter is 4 ft 10 inches tall and weighs under 100 lbs. she has her own .600 ok and shoots it regularly. !-Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

Did you build it? and what does it weigh? the one my daughter was shooting belonged to one of my guides and seemed pretty impractical for actually hunting with. It was certainly not something a 90# women - or 190# man for that matter - would carry in this country.
