So I finally break down and buy Quickload. Playing around with the .510 Socom I've been pondering. Blew out a 458 Socom(in the cartridge file)case to .510, it measures 1.555" long, and holds 67.5g of water. Likely more in each respect after fireforming. Anyway - for whatever reason I thought there was a way to get "recommended" powders for your combination??? I was trying to generate a load for the Speer 647g BMG bullet in the database - with COAL at 3.075" I'd like something that will run 1200-1250 fps out of a 24" barrel. When I run the "Predicted Data for Indicated Charges", I don't see the likely suspects of H110/Lil Gun, etc. But if I enter them manually, the loads look like reasonable pressure in the 22-23g range to start. These are what that report generates, that look promising to me, but maybe I'm missing something here: Powder type Filling/Loading Ratio Charge Vel Pres. Winchester 748 98.8 34.8 1200 28720 Hodgdon H335 92.6 33.0 1200 28051 Alliant Reloder-10x 93.8 29.0 1200 26495 Just need an experienced user to double check what I'm doing here - need to play more, was kind of disappointed in the manual that came with it.

Fireball, I think you should listen to Quickload. H110 and W296 (same powder) are far too fast for such a heavy projectile.

yes there is and that generally is referred to as a "reloading manual". I use "manuals" as the primary source and QuickLoad as a secondary with other interesting 'tidbits" it offers. There is an interesting thing about QuickLoad, it gives you the initial instructions on how to use the software - kind of neat

Kindly point me to a reloading manual that has data for the cartridge I'm working with. I'd really appreciate that. As to Quickload instructions, my copy - that arrived on Thursday, only outlined how to operate the functions - no examples whatsoever, or how they interact. So again - I ask, experienced Quickload operators, check my numbers please.
