Are there plans for the African in .416 Ruger?

I spoke w/ Ruger CS about a month ago. I got the standard "there are no plans to offer the .416 in an african model at this time", answer. I wouldn't even mind the 20" SS version if we could get the grey laminate that was put on the LH .375 Ak's. In RH, of course. Oh, and w/ a bb sling swivel, while we're at it.

I agree. I could throw that rubber dingy stock away and live with it if it was not so shiny and had a barrel band. In the current configuration it simply leaves me cold.

are the specs of the standard cartridge known?...if so a reamer is a piece of cake and adding a barrel is too!

At SCI I was told by a Ruger rep that the wood stocked 416 was planned for release this summer. He added that they were trying to come up with a system that would keep the wood stock from splitting.

I want a blued CM model. I hope they will offer one.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

My vz is already a Taylor and I understand it is easy with the Ruger Reamer. I just need to find a gunsmith in S. Ca. able to do it for me.
