Am narrowing down my purchase of a double rifle and it looks like a Searcy field grade. Now, do I get ejectors or not? BTW, Its got to be a 470 NE...

I went through this dilemma for the past 6 months. Most people say get ejectors and it is easier to sell a gun that has them. However, Mr. Searcy told me that if you buy a Searcy field grade without ejectors, you can add them later. So you really do not need to decide at all. You can buy the gun with extractors, and if you are not satisfied just send it back with a check and he will install ejectors.

Isn't life simple?

Get the ejectors and take them out...I don't like ejectors, much prefer extractors as the action opens so much easier. doubles are low pressure and the cases just fall out.

KN,
I have a 470 NE from Searcy's and it has ejectors. If I ever get another double, it will either be an extractor model or I'll have the ejectors taken off. You'll like the rifle from Butch's shop! FWIW
