That reminds me of when I was in North Dakota (via the Air Force), a friend of mine used to bust "Dak-rats" (prairie dogs) with a 45-70. That was a hoot! Now that I'm in Nebraska, I hope a 375 H&H is big enough to stop charging chipmunks .

I know the feeling.....I touched off my .404 Jeffery the other day and was ready to be reset to yesterday and the recoil was actually tolerable. I must say the decelerator and the 9.6 pound rifle helped but all in all that thing needs to visit a prairie dog town soon.
