Where is the cheapest place in the US to purchase a CZ550 in 416 Rigby. I saw one at Gunsamerica for $700, is that about the going price?

I recently paid $629. The local dealer didn't stock it, so he ordered it for me. Of course this being in MN. there was a sales tax. I would also suggest you give Capital Sports a call. No sales tax in Mt. I'm currently stuck here while my wife is in school. I spent many a dollar at Capital Sports and had good service. I can't wait to get home! I would also suggest you check a small local dealer and see what the costs are to order you one. Any gunshop can usually order one even if they don't stock it and are often right in the price ball park with the big dealers. Rob

$599 from Whittaker's guns in Owensboro KY. They are a CZ direct distributor. Got mine last week.

cost on a new CZ 550 in .416 Rigby is under the $ 600.00 mark direct from CZ usa. Be very careful I own one and it shoots very well. The recoil pad was like a rock and everyone I have examined needs some major bedding work. If you are going to scope the rifle I suggest a full lenght weaver rail due to the fact that CZ mounts tend to slip under the recoil.

[QUOTE]Originally posted by alekojjensen: Hi Alekojjensen. Just curious what kind of Bruno mounts your refering to. I've used the Bruno mounts and never had a problem. I loaded my Rigby up fairly fast. The only scope mounts that I had a problem with were the Warne QD style but I understand that they have fixed the problem. I also used Bruno mounts on my 450 Ackley with no problem. 470 Mbogo

The rings direct from CZ were slipping under the recoil of the .416. They do not have a recoil lug on the rings to cheque the force from the recoil. The 1,5x5 that sits atop was too short for the long action, so while adding a new scope mount we decided to make it so it would fit the stubby 1,5x5 and the 2,5 Leupold

Kentucky Nimrod, You are wise. Darrell Whittaker is my buddy and gun dealer. "Whittaker Guns" has a web site: You can't go wrong there. If anybody else wants to utilize their services, tell them "Doc Berry sent me, give me the low prices you always give him!" That reminds me to call and see if he got my latest order in. Alex, I tried the custom steel Weaver base, but it will obscure the factory express sights and make the scope too high. I have a 4X Zeiss with integral mounts on the scope with recoil stop on front and rear. It is unusual. ------------------

I did put on higher sights to avoid this problem. I omitted that. The rings came from a very respectable place. the brand of which I cannot remember. I will look at the warnes but I am content with my ideas.
