Yesterday, I received my first 100 pieces of Hornady 458 Lott brass and went to load a few round. They would not go into my RCBS #4 shell holder ![]()

I have never loaded straight wall cases before and had difficulty attempting to trimm the cases...The cases mouths are undersized ...measured them at about .435 or so. I attempted to trimm them both before and after sizing with Hornady dies...What do you do to trimm 458 Lott Brass. The brass looks to be quality. I cleaned up the primer pockets and flash holes, both of which needed work. I checked wt. of the Brass after and got the following results: 60 cases 249.7 to 250.6 grains 30 cases 248.8 to 249.6 grains 6 cases 251 to 251. 8 1 case 247 2 cases 255+ 1 case 243, measured length of this case was 2.58". Overall I was impressed with the quality and the price. I would appreciate any tips and help in reloading straight wall cases/ 458 Lott...Thanks JJS
