A friend of mine called the customer service number today for the components mfg plant for Remington and asked about 416 brass. The individual at Remington told him that they were discontinuing the production of 416 Rem Mag brass. I sent an email to Remington over Christmas and the response I got was "question unresolved". Are any other brass manufacturers planning to produce brass for the 416 Rem?

Remington only ran 416 in seasonal lots, I am surprised to hear they dropped it completely. 416 rem can be formed from 8mm mag though. I tried to do a search on 416 rem brass, but I don't see any mfgr currently selling it. I find that odd because both Federal and Norma are making loaded ammo in 416 rem. Also odd is Winchester is bringing their new model 70 Safari out in 416 Rem as well. John

I hope Winchester offers it. The other guys are a bit pricey. I doubt Hornady will in light of their 416 offering and desired success.

A local store says he can get me a lot of 500 cases. I dont need that many, if others are interested we can split the case. Will have to find out the price as I didnt bother to take note as he did not want to breakdown the case. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Glad I checked that it was possible to form .416 Remington Mag from either .458 Lott or Hornady's basic belted brass before I decided to build my .416.
