I want to build a ruger #1 in 460 weatherby. do I need to reinforce the stock and forend in addition to rebarreling? can I recahamber the exsisting barrel or do I need to put a new barrel on the gun? any help would be greatly appreciated.

GeorgeSIt is a simple re-chamber. Reinforcing the grip is a good idea.
You do realize that the #1 is light for a .460Wby., don't you? That thing is going to KICK!

matt1980I thank everyonr for the feedback they have given me. Iknow this gun will recoil, but I have learned to deal with heavy recoil. My next project is a 585 nyati. will post videos and pictures. Good shooting to all!! Remember if you can stick your thumb down the muzzle, it's a winner!!!!

The best advice I can give you is PM Robgunbuilder. Talk with him about your future endeavors. If you're into bores big enough for your thumb, then Rob is the go to guy! Seriously! The man shoots CANNONS!!!!!! He designed the 600 Over Kill. You'll like his way of thinking.
