450 #2 Nitro. It might be more stomp than you want if it's a light gun though...

You could do any of the 45 basic case chamberings. 45-90(45-2 1/2"), 45-100(45-2 3/4"), 45-110(45-2 7/8"), or 45-120(45-3 1/4")

The chamberings reccomended by 600 are the easiest, and cheapest to go to. However this all depends on what rifle you are thinking of re-chambering! Some rifles are too light for the longer 45s, and some have barrel tapers that negate the long chamberings, because the barrel get too thing out at the end of the chamber. What rifle are you thinking about re-chambering? If it s a Ruger No1 then they will all work fine, but if you are thinking about a cartridge like the 450#2 NE, then forget it, the barrel is too thing below the screw holes under the quarter rib, for a chamber that large! ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

In the Ruger No-1 you can all so go with the 450 3 1/4" NE,,but I have found in mine that full bore loads are a bit intense, and the Black Powder Express loads are more fun Stay Alert,Stay Alive Niet geschoten is altijd mis Hate of America is the defeat position of failed individuals and the failing state
