Just a heads up, HDY 405 brass and ammo have not been available for a while now and I have not been able to find any online. I called Hornady this morning and they told me that they have a scheduled limited run for ammo around mid May with shipping to vendors occuring in June. This is a limited demand item that they only make when they have sufficient backorders. She mentioned that Graffs, Midsouth and Natchez are some of the vendors that are getting it. The bad news is that they don't, at this time, plan on making any excess brass for the reloading market, they will be making ammo only. She told me that she doubts that they will ever sell brass again due to low demand. I have a 405, but also need some brass to form into 375/2.5 rimmed and apparently 405 brass is the easiest to form it from. The purpose of this post is to give a heads up to those who need this ammo, and to encourage reloaders to give Hornady a call at 1-800-338-3220 and encourage them to make some extra brass on this run for reloaders. I have several hundred fired .405 cases and hand load all my 300 and 400 grain ammo. However, anyone new to shooting the .405 should buy the new AMMO TO SHOOT AND FOR THE BRASS. Thank you for the heads up on this. I may buy a few boxes of 300 grain ammo just in case. I will also call them for new brass as I have 3 rifles to feed.
