Short body variable power scopes will not work with the Brockman Pop Up Peep on a long action such as your 416: The peep, when in the down position, will hit the power adjust ring. I think it is a 2-7X Leupold. Action is a long M70.

Below, the peep is in the full down position, the scope ring hits the peep and the rear ring will not seat in the rear base.

Thanks guys. Just ordered the Brockman pop up peep sight. I think that will work. If not, then I will change the front sight as Will has suggested.

There's still hope. Just got off the phone with Brockman. I will be using a 1.5-5 Leupold VX III scope. Jim has one in his shop and will try the sight with the scope mounted. He may have to adjust my particular peep sight but it sounds promising right now. Thanks John Ricks for the heads up on this!

500grains- yes, I have considered that but I do not like the current barrel mounted rear sight as I can barely see the notch in the blade over the Talley scope bases. The bases are just high enough to hide most of the current rear sight. Thought I would change the rear sight first to solve that problem.

If you would just do as I told you! The thin, little Leupold QRW mounts and the NECG sights ($150) will solve your problem. If you are rarely going to use the open sights you don't need all these complications of Tamale mounts and Bo Peeps, and what will fit and what won't, and just shoot me!

Free Miner- yes I will post the results. Brockman is currently out of the sight and is producing them now. Should have some results in the next couple of weeks.

Will- As I previoulsy mentioned, I am going to use a Leupold VX III scope. If the "Bo Peep" sight doesn't work for any reason then I will abandon that idea. Keep torturing me Will, it's kinda fun!!

Hey Will, you got it figured out and should be listened to. That is the way I prefer it too. Your way or the highway.
