Hello! I wish to adjust the triggger pull weight on my new win m70 .375. It is veeery hard set. I am not expert but I'd like to try to do it by myself first and see a gunsmith if I need too. Can anyone tell me what to think of regarding the model etc. Please feel free to say what you like... fat chicks inc.

Hello Goldeneye My Pops told me many years ago that "the only people who mess with watches are watch makers and damn fools". In most cases, I believe the same rule apply's to guns. Better to spend my time earning money at what I do best. I'll gladly pay the professional gunsmith to do the job right before I screw it up. Much cheaper as well. Hard to beat a man at his own game. 1992 Mod. 70 has a trigger adjust that's fairly simple. Screw w/ two nuts. Screw adjusts over-travel. The two nuts set up spring tension. Yeah, you CAN adjust tension and travel to the point that the sear will release when closing the bolt, or when smartly slapping the butt of the rifle. I got mine down to no travel and a release in the realm of a pound. But Winchester has changed the config. on this trigger here and there. It's DESIGNED and INTENDED to be user adjusted.
