GMA Express Magnum for Rigby
Three years ago I ordered a left hand .70" GMA Express Magnum action (not the larger "African Magnum" with .75" bolt diamater). After a great many hassles to finalise import- and export permits, I expect my action to arrive any day now. I plan to build a 416 Rigby. What troubles me is the GMA brochure I just saw that describes this particular action's magazine to be configured for .416 Remington and .458 Lott cartridges. Will my magazine take the larger Rigby cartridges? Thanks, Adam

RobgunbuilderDidn't you check the mag box and more importantly overall dimensions of the GMA express action before you bought it to make sure it would fit the .416 Rigby? My experience with GMA actions is that they need some additional gunsmithing to feed cartridges they were not designed around.-Rob

MHC_TXI have a 416 Rigby built on a .70" GMA Express Magnum action......it will work fine and it will hold four 416 Rigby rounds in the magazine.
Here is a link to that rifle....there are a couple of pictures showing the magazine with rounds in it

ForrestBLike MHC, I have a 416 Rigby built on the .700" Express Magnum. I think it's a much better solution for the Rigby than the .750" African Magnum. When I ordered my action, I told GMA what I wanted to build and the shipped the action with the Rigby-sized box. It took a good gunsmith quite a bit of effort to make it run effortlessly.
I would suggest you contact GMA before they ship the action and make sure you get the Rigby-sized bottom metal.
