Has anyone put there hands on some of the new 375 TTSX bullets? They should be out soon if they aren't at the present. It is my hope they preform as expected. Want to use them in my 378 WM for long range big game. I know first hand the knock down power at long range of the 340WM, shot a moose in the late season at 530 yards, very effective. Sold that rifle to my son and decided to try the 378. Definitely not for flinchers but it should be quite accurate and flat shooting to 500yards.

I have a pre-order / "backorder" in with Midsouth for the 250-grain TTSX. Barnes updated their site with "New for 2011" product including the 250's. Aren't 300's already available? Don't need 'em, just interested in 250's with RL-15 next. _______________________

hopefully they are just as accurate as the 270 tsx in .375 and 350tsx in .416 I've been curious what a plastic tipped bullet would look like in my rigby

Do they make them in 270 grain weight? Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Barnes website only list ttsx in 250gr for .375. The 270's shoot great in my rifles loaded to 2800 fps. I'll have to try the 250 tipped. Surprised they are putting tip on the 350gr .416, it has a big enough hole at tip that it opens nicely.

The TTSX is actually a stouter bullet then the TSX because the nose cavity under the tip is wider, so they beefed them up a bit. However, I imagine all the current 416's at modern speeds will have more then enough fps to make them open up. That should extend and flatten the trajectory of the 416 a bit, make it even more "1-gun" capable, at least I would think. If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

I've held the .375 TSX and .416 TSX side by side and the cavity is the same diameter on both. The .375 cavity is quite a bit larger than the .338 cavity though.

Thanks. I wonder if they plan to tip all of the TSX bullets over time? Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I did email barnes factory to see if they would have a 375 ttsx coming out soon, would have thought that the 270gr would be a number one not the 250 gr in line for production, the answer given was bullets would be on the market parallel to release soon. They have bullets for the 340 wm (which I have come to realize is an outstanding long range knock down caliber, much more that my 338 win mag) In 2009 I shot an extremely large mule deer through both front shoulders at 300 yards, with the 340 wm 250gr, spiraled that deer 110 degrees onto the ground, no big holes and instant devastation. I plan to do the same experiment with the 378 WM and see what the difference is, preferably on a moose or an elk.

New Tipped TSX For 2011, Barnes is adding nine new bullets to its Tipped Triple-Shock™ (TTSX) lineup. The TTSX bullet adds a streamlined polymer tip to the company’s best-selling Triple-Shock X Bullet. The polymer tip and re-engineered nose cavity mean even faster expansion. The tip also boosts BC, improving long-range ballistics. The Tipped TSX™ features a 100-percent copper, lead-free body. Multiple rings cut into the shank relieve pressures and virtually eliminate copper fouling. The rings also contribute to the bullet’s outstanding accuracy. Hydraulic pressure forces the nose of the TTSX bullet open, causing it to expand instantly on contact. Double-diameter expansion creates four cutting petals that wreak extensive internal damage. The bullet retains virtually 100 percent of its original weight as it produces pass-through penetration. Count on this bullet to exit the far side of deer or elk, even when heavy bones are struck. Exceptional TTSX performance means clean, quick kills. ~1.60 or so, is my guess. Put my 250-grain .375 against the screen with Barnes info @ 125% and extrapolated by eye to the 350-grain .416 next to it. (250 grainer mikes @1.454" FWIW.) http://www.barnesbullets.com/w...nesPoster.small_.pdf _______________________

BNagel, thank for the insight. Knew it would be way out there as the regular 350 TSX goes to 1.42 which is about as long a bullet as I can load to a 3.30 OAL. Do like the Taylor in an 8 1/2 lb rifle however.
