Hope it is OK to post this here like this?

A Rigby 375 belonging to a friend has been loaded to Gun Auctions (www.gunauctions.com.au)
375H&H - J. Rigby Auction Sale

Anything you can do to spread this link around would be most appreciated.

Thanks heaps
Matt

Matt- that is a BEAUTIFUL piece!! I believe that is one of the last true Paul Roberts Rigby's before he sold to the CA owners. That said, a fine piece.
However, those guns on the good actions, there are some NOT so Good actions those were built on as well, are only bringing $7500-8500 in perfect condition in good calibers.
The shipping Duty and Fed Excise of 10% to a US buyer puts this way out of range....IMHO.
I would love to have it!!
Cheers,

Are the ones on the 'good' actions going to bring more? How does one define the good and bad?

I find it a little hard to believe that a Paul Roberts Rigby mauser in magnum caliber, in excellent condition, would only be worth $8,500. I am not disputing you though - just saying i find it hard to believe it!!!

IMHO, remember, these are not much different than a nice Dakota, other than the Name. I do not believe they made any of them on the Magnum actions so are limited to 375 Length cartridges and if you see one in 416...it is the Remington.

There is a good article on the run of these floating around and talks about numbers by action....probably not more that 15 to 20 of these around. It might be in Silvio Calabi's book Rigby- Family fine firearms...

Some were done on Bauska actions and others on the Royal Arms (Korean) Mauser types, etc.

With the $US at about .95AUD....makes his return rather poor too...when they were being made it was .55-.65!!

Cheers,
