Hi team

Will the bolt face on the M70 action take a 500 A Square?

Thanks in advance
Stu

Yes it will.
I have one that has a .416 Rigby bolt face, for a .500/.338 Lapua Magnum with 2.7" case length.
You have to consider that he .500 A-Square is a 2.9"-cased cartridge.
You really ought to keep the M70 down to 3.6" magazine length,
though there have been some full length .416 Rigby rifles made from M70 Winchester Classic actions.
That may not be the best of ideas.

Some of my .500 A-Square loads were 4.750" COL in a Ruger No. 1.
A BRNO ZKK 602 or a CZ 550 Magnum with 3.8" box will handle the .500 A2 loads of 3.75" COL admirably well.
The .500 A2 ain't a .458 Win. Mag. Wink

Thanks RIP

Just kicking the idea of having a M70 in 375, 416, 458 and a .500, all the same feel, action trigger etc.

Obviously a CZ would do the lot, just like the idea of the M70.

Cheers Stu
