577NitroExpressWoodleight bullets for .577 NE
I also posted this in the reloading forum.
All:
I have a question. I was able to pick up some woodleigh bullets for .577 at a considerable discount, but I have a question.
Some of the bullets are the full .577 NE, .585 diameter bullets - 750 grain soft nose.
The other bullets listed on the Woodleigh box says this:
Calibre: 577 BP
Diameter: .585
Weight: 650 Gr
Type: Weldcore SN
Quantity: 25
My question is this: Can these be shot in a full .577 Nitro Express rifle? Or, does the 577 BP listed on the box indicate it is only for black powder rifles?
Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciate.

ROSCOEMy guess it that they will fire in a 577NE. The bullets most likley have less of a jacket and are made to expand at lower velocities. You could contact Woodleigh an be sure.

N E 450 No2Check Woodleighs website. He should give their ideal velocity there.
Those are for the 577 Black powder express. They should be good for deer and pigs.

505EDYep, they will run down the tube of your 577, but may not regulate. I think that the BP just have a thinner jacket. Pretty cool a 650 grn varmint bullet!

jeffeossoYour searcy will shoot these more or less to point of aim (btdt with a searcy 577)..
yep, it'll work just fine... you'll have to do some load dev to get them to adjust elevation.. or flip up the 200 yard sight
woodleigh's site says they are good with MV of 1800-2000 ..
