The book is Building double rifles on shotgun actions by W. Ellis Brown. I believe his website is www.bundukipublishing.com but I can't access it at the moment.
LAR45, My goal is to build a light nitro 577, like Marrakai has on his Greener, but I think I'll do a 470 or 450 first.First it's cheaper and I'll have a greater margin for error with the smaller caliber. Once I get (a new) monoblock where it looks like something I'll post pics. I know I need to get better photo storage too. I know I talked to you earlier about your conversion, how's it holding up? I'm curious as to how you sleeved your barrels.
Wanna577. The gun seems to be holding up just fine. I haven't been able measure any change in the barrels comeing off face. I just got 100rnds of brass from Jeffe, so I should be able to stay at the range longer now. I still need to finish the sleeving, but it's getting real close. I turned the last half of the barrel down to a minimum diameter except for about 1/2" on the end, then I filed one side and shimmed them shot. And repeated until they started to shoot to the same place. I have 6 shots in 5" at 50yds, but ran out of loaded ammo. So I'll try to get it more fine tuned next time I'm out, then I'll solder the inserts in place and call it good. I picked up a 10ga with the thought of useing it for the 470, but the gun is really large, so I got this Belgian 12ga and used it instead. Good luck on your project.

LAR45, thanks for the explanation. Is it barrel heavy or did it balance out pretty well?
I'm using A6 on the recomendation of someone more knowledgeable than myself. Its strong and it will be less likely to warp when we heat treat it because its air hardening.
