| Fast handeling w/ open sights , has alot to do with the drop at the comb and heel .. The radius and shape of the grip.. and the optimum lop for you . Also the amount of ' cast off '.... In my limited knowledge ,,a longer lop helps align the eye to the sights ... And it hinders aliening a scope... An overly long length of pull can also increase the chance of short strokeing the bolt when cycleing from the shoulder... Rifle fit ,, essespecially with a big bore ,, can really make it or break it for useing the rifle well ..If you are in OG you should be able to drive to some where that someone knowledgeable can fit the stock to you ...
.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

| I too like the look of the Brockman stocks. I've looked at their web pages but have not found any pricing. Can anyone give me a ballpark price for a CZ 550 Safari? I'd like to get one for my .458 Lott.
Thanks |

| I just love my Brockman with the cheek piece, I had Brockman install stock. It handles like a dream and recoil is not much with 375 300 gr at 2600 fps |

| I have both.
I have a 416 Rigby with the non-cheekpiece stock (the cheekpiece model was not available at the time)
I have a 458 Win Mag with the newer cheekpiece stock.
The plain stock model is very bulky but is finished with a light grit material mixed in with the stock finish (except on the cheek area) for a really good grip.
The cheekpiece model is a much trimmer, better feeling stock that works very well with the factory iron sights. It comes with a steel grip cap and a Limbsaver butt pad. The finish, however, is very slick and hard to hold on to, you will have to put some sort of grip material on the grip and forend. |

| Thanks all, I'll call Brockman tomorrow to order the cheek piece style stock, unfinished. I can do my own checkering and will probably do a thick wrap- around pattern on the fore- end. Won't look good (I'm not that good) but it'll beat skateboard tape. |

| After seeing this post, I went to Brockmans web site looking for a standard length action stock.. I want to rid myself of that humback stock on my 9.3X62.. It seems they only make the Magnum action stock..

| Jim is very competent and a real nice guy. He's done work for me over the years and I have one of his CZ stocks too. If you're seriously thinking of buying one of his stocks or need work done just call him. He will answer your questions and tell you what can and connot be done. |

| Mopanemike,
check the weightwatchers job Will Stewart had done on his Lux. It came out looking really nice.

| I called Brockman's yesterday and they are 6-8 weeks out on their stocks, unfinished drop ins (with recoil pad, cross bolts, and swivels) run $265. Very reasonable! I plan on sealing the interior of mine with spar varnish, checkering the outside and then sealing the pores with French Red followed by tru- oil. |
