hi... Do any of you folks who own original .416 Rigby's (1920's - 1940's) have feeding and chambering problems with the Federal 400-grain factory ammo? cos i've heard of a few problems with the Feds... p.s - wanted to know cos i just might get the chance to finally own one!! zubin One shot..meat! I don't know if it's true or not but that wouldn't stop me if the price is right. Use a different load if it is. Less than 200 pre-war 416s were built. Check the price on this one: 416RIGBY NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Yes, I have an early Rigby that had a chamber that was smaller than the current brass being manufactured. It would not chamber either the Federal or the Norma stuff. I had to send my rifle to Sterling Davenport for evaluation. He discovered that the chamber was very tight and recommended that it be rechambered with a new reamer thst would fit the modern brass offerings. It fixed mine just fine. square shooter

It may sound silly to some, but that Rigby is probably a good investment. It looks almost too good to be true though. It wouldn't be a good investment for me; I couldn't stop myself from shooting it. ______________________________ "Truth is the daughter of time." Francis Bacon

Someone bought the never fired 416 according to the Schwandt website. Truly a beauty. Was it someone hear? Man it would be tough not to shoot it.

If the buyer drilled that Rigby, his $35K investment is now worth about 1/4 of what he paid. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.
