You know those big guns are like crack cocaine, the more you use them the smaller your nuts become!
BOOM Big Grin

Just kidding SafariKid, I'd like to see some pictures as well, especially the ones where you are in full recoil! rotflmo

Safarikid,
Have you measured the velocity (fps) of the 4-bore missile yet-using the 2000 grain bullet??

Didn't some of the old hunters in Tanzania use 4-bores, in the black powder versions, in hunting. Must be only for stoppers due to the weight. At 26 lbs, that exceeds my comfort factor. Gives a whole new meaning to gun bearer! Wink

Tom, have you loaded for it yet or are you using Ken's ammo? I'd be interested in swapping notes. Have you chronoed it yet? I'd love to know what those naval ordinance softs are doing!
I know he quotes 112gn blue dot as top end, which must be brutal. Keep up the good work.

Tom, I don't know how much you'd have to load it down (seems almost WRONG) on order to recover a bullet, but I would love to see just how big they get. Maybe the buff can stop a soft?!?

Tom, you jarred my memory and I found a 10yr old article in Black Powder Hunter where Ross S. shot an Aussie feral donkey in the shoulder with a pure lead round ball and recovered it in the opposite ham at over 2" diameter. That bodes well for your plans beer

If you are looking for some 4 Bore rounds I believe Kittery Trading Post, 207-439-2700 (ask for the reloading area) had about 10 yesterday. They were loaded with lead bullets..
