416/.50BMG- I hear rifling last about 200 rnds after that it's a smooth bore. Accuracy may suffer! -Rob

It is there, hidden behind the BMG stuff:

I built one some 20 years ago and said "Never Again". Cheaper to buy. McMillian makes a nice one.

Another very good one. I had the pleasure of putting this one together. 36 inch barrel.

OUR Wildman up north making all sizes using our 585HE case.

Works in long actions .don't need BMG actions

Good actions are Stiller and Lawton,,Single shots , etc/

Got thousands of cases to make these from,

even some without headstamp.

Ed,
This thread was started due to a discussion on the 49 caliber, and my goal of making a 490 BMG. Because the 49 caliber isn't 50 anything.

Therefore the POINT is to change the BMG case.

I had no interest in making belts into cases back when I received the first batch of jamison gibbs cases from Neal, and then called neal then boomie (which did result in his 577BME or whatever he called it) -- i have even less interest today.

Jeff, what is the bullet diameter to be? I will turn a few solids down to this dimension, make a neck size bushing for my 50 BMG dies, neck size some cases, seat bullets and send to you.

Second and third bullets from the top on the left made from 50 BMG bronze solids. They are cut off rear halves turned backwards as Harold Johnson did years ago for his 50 Alaskan. Nasty bear pills.

So we can make just about anything out of those old BMG bullets.

Thanks and COOL -- Some 49 or 490 BMG dummies would be amazing-- this is going to be a .498 groove, .490 bore --

I can maybe help with BMG, there are couple hundred on Gunbroker,

one a State Arms at a $1050 I think, with 2 hours left, has a reserve,

and couple barreled Rapter BMG uppers for ARs, $1450

each, near the end of the list.

And we have about 800 unfired cases for buck each,

and we got die to reduce the neck so they'd fit .498" bullet.

Had a couple we did years ago when experimenting with

smaller but couldn't fund a bmg action.. Ed
