For all you fellow lefties,

I called Wichester customer service yesterday and asked about production of LH rifles. The lady indicated that next production run would be decided AFTER their sales meeting in October. So the production run itself would likely be started several months after October. She indicated they were looking at adding some additional LH caliber choices, though. She also indicated I was the second person who'd called her Friday asking about LH big bore rifle production.

I wouldn't get my hopes up after seeing how long they lasted with the origional run of LH guns. They started just dropping certain calibers than dropped entire models in LH.

Steve,

I too shoot left.

Would love to see another batch with different calibers available.

Maybe you should gather a list of interested lefties here at AR. Might also have them state their preference as to caliber choice.

If enough show interest, an "E" to Winchester might be better than a few calls. I'm sure Win. knows of AR's base of readers.

Here's from another Lefty that likes the model 70. I currently have a 30/06 and two 375s. I would love some more choices.

Call USRAC d/b/a/ Winchester at 800-333-3288.

Tell them you are interested in more LH Model 70 offerings; you should be specific as to variants and chamberings.

It wouldn't hurt to follow up with a letter (I believe these are considered more as they involve more effort than an e-mail or phone call).

I'd like them to offer LH Safari Express in .416 Remington and .458 (Win. or Lott), as well as LH RUMs.

For whoever is communicating wishes to USRAC dba Winchester...

Put me down for three left-hand Winchester Model 70 Safari Express models. One each in 416 Remington Magnum, 458 Lott, and 470 Capstick.

Already have a few in 375 H&H.

I'd like the chance to buy a LH M70 in 416Rem and probably 458WinMag as well. The 458 would be shot as is for a while and then converted to 458 Vincent Short. I'll blame recent threads for that sudden interest. Until a few days ago I didn't even know the Vincents existed.

My prefence would be for stainless and either synthetic or laminate stock but of course I'll take whatever I can get.

As for contacting Winchester, maybe once a few more of us chime in you can send them the link to this thread. All the information is right here.

Wow,

What a response.

I'm interested in the .416, the .458 Win and Lott, and the .300UM and the .375UM.

All these calibers are available from them currently, but at $3K from the custom shop with a year's wait.

I'm all for it too.
I'd like to see some standard short action calibers available that are not "custom" priced.
257 Roberts
7mm-08
358 Win.
Thanks.

BTW. Did any of you guys ever even see one of the LH Featherweights that were supposed to have come out last year?
I had one on order for 14 months. I cancelled that order nearly a year ago. My dealer still can't get 'em.

I'm in to! The 458 Lott would be the most likely, with all the craze, but the 470 Capstick would be way cool. Lefties are more for the unusual. The safari express is a nice set up. I love mine! I would like to see more in any .458+ caliber.

I'd like to buy a couple of LH Model 70 "short" actions. I wish they'd make them in other than WSM calibers.

I'll start a new thread, asking lefties to express their wants and needs for LH big bore M-70s.

The new thread will be for big bores ONLY. Nothing under .366"/9.3mm.

If you want a .375, .416, .423, .458, .470, or even bigger, speak up!

We can then forward a link to folks at USRAC. Perhaps they will see the wisdom of satisfying this market niche.

If they don't, we can always forward the info to CZ.
