Thanks to all my shooting brothers,I really would like to get one of those old 375H&H rifles.I read on here a couple times that the 300H&H & 375H&H were a hard combo to beat anywhere anytime........
Thanks to you guys I know whats out there....
Good Luck and Good shooting

I know where to mint 375H&H magnums are for sale. They are high dollar rifles for sure.My question is will they keep going up in value and are they a safe buy even at full price? Can the old rifles handle all modern rounds and in the smaller calibers can the light magnum hornady be shot safely? Is there any differance between a 1963 and a 1948 in quality?I have heard that rifles before i think 1954 were better....any truth to this and exactly how is this determined?I am opened to any help/knowledge of these old rifles as they seem to be awful nice and as a investment sorta like money in the bank?Anyone got any thing good or bad to say about them?

Jeffery your rifle looks like you got a great deal,Havent seen a deal like that !One of the 375H&H is selling for 2500,the other 2200.Neither is supergrade, they both are just normal grades.....super nice condition though...Are they better rifles than current, some of the new ones i have seen were awful nice, not all winchesters are shoddy ,seems like you allways hear about the bad ones but there are some quality rifles out there that have the big W stamped on them .Does putting a nice custom stock on the old winchesters devalue them ?Guess it depends on the maker and quality?I have priced some custom stocks and some were way more than a whole gun !!Never seen a high dollar custom stock that was THAT much better than a NICE ruger express circassian stock that is standard issue on there express rifles....i really dont like a gloss stock finish anyway -soooo- iam not impressed with shine .....kimber has pretty wood on there rifles as do dakota....Being more of a hunter and working gun kinda shooter i like regular hunting /working gun stocks instead of a hollywood, snakeskin cowboy/just fell off the turnip truck/glitter and rhinestone shiny sparklelly stocks like some makers we all know make. When the sun shines on them slicker dude high heal toy stocks you can see em for a mile away....
would a 458winchester pre 64 be worth more than a 375H&H?
Both same condition just differnt caliber?
Thanks forthe help.

My stock is oil finish I did it my self.

It is my all-round rifle and I treat it like any other rifle.

I can always re-finish the stock if it get too banged up.

The 458 winni is called the African Grade and is worth way more then the 375 H&H.

In mint condition about $3500-4500

This is a pre-64 in 458 winchester Magnum African grade.

The African Grade was only made in the 459 Winchester magnum and came with a 25" barrel.

Price sounds a bit high for a standard grade 375 H&H. Andre's rifle is very nice, however, the "value" of most rifles will drop if you drill & tap the side of the receiver (G&H side mount). Also, with respect to Pre-64 Winchesters, if you cut the stock, add a recoil pad (for guns with a steel buttplate), notch the stock for a peep sight, or change the original factory installed recoil pad(for magnum rifles), then the value drops as well. Also, for 375 H&H's it is important that the rear factory sight is original.

My advice, if you like the gun and want it, buy it. And YES, the 458's (only made in Supergrades) are worth quite a bit more than the 375 H&H's.

An unaltered 1948 vintage 375 with 99-100% original finish is probably worth $2500, later vintage somewhat less. A "shooter" in 90-95% condition with a pad should still bring $1000-$1500.
