George, pretty good. Had to change photo, all correct except for the Rigby.

Daryl,

I do not see a 50BMG in that line up. I see the 308, 06, 9.3x62 & 64, the 375 and what appears to be a Rigby.

Ya, sorry. The original photo is in the 'Misc.' forum. Just when I think I've got this photo-posting thing figured out... I thought these would be more of a challenge, not like Saeed's contest, but shows what I know! The one is based on a Rigby, but is a wildcat. Had an opportunity to shoot it and the .500 A-Square. Ouch. The one is like George nailed, the 30/06 AI. I'll try to do better next time; you guys are too good! Daryl

Daryl,

What is the Rigby based wildcat? I give up! A real good one for what's this cartridges is the 475 A&M. It looks too much like a Weatherby.

I know what it is. Its sporting a 500gr Swift A-frame if I am not mistaken. A hint...the owner posts here by the same name.

How was your shoot, Daryl?

Canuck, I still have all of my teeth! I even hit the target with those beasts! Very nice guns and I was really impressed with the .470. I let 4 rip as fast as I could and still get a sight picture and 3 cut a big jagged hole at 50 yds. Kind of like my Casull on crack and fired from the shoulder!

Daryl, I am pretty impressed with the stats on the 470. I think it would make a fine addition to the collection one day!

How did you find the A-square to shoot?

Here is another pic. Not quite as tricky as yours.

Hi Daryl,
I made it back to Vancouver last night and home this morning. I didn't even have to wipe the Moose off my bumper in the Pine Pass. Snow on the road all the way down to Spences Bridge. It was great fun shooting with you and Vasa and you did do very well with the big sticks. Thanks for the shots with your 9.3X64 and the 454 Casul. It was like a mini Northern B.C. big bore shoot. You build it and they will come. Maybee we can get it to grow and become an annual event. I guess I'm not allowed to guess the cartridges. A little advantage on the big one. 470 Mbogo

470, Glad you made it home safely. I heard they had snow in the Cook Islands! Hee-hee!
Canuck, the 500 wasn't what I would call "fun". More like "rude", but I suppose it serves a purpose. I did quite like the .470 and even managed to stay on target for a few shots! Might have to start dropping hints in my wife's direction...maybe in a few years she'll have gotten over being pissed at me?

Daryl,

Why do the all look like they are flat on this side?

Longbob, Do you mean the photo? I just laid them in my scanner and let 'er rip. I think my shoulder is also a little flatter than it was.
470Mbogo, you left too early! It dropped to -25C last night and we had a bloody earthquake this morning at 06:30! Do you think maybe that was just after shock from A-Square?

470 Mbogo; good to hear that you got back safely. At our little shoot, it was the second time I shot your 470 and 500. At the velocities you had them loaded, the 500 was a little bit "rude", but I am more and more starting to like the 470.
Daryl; I'll get you more familiar with the double this spring before we go bear hunting. Myself, I have to start practising quick reloading with the double as the weather warms up. Have to try that 'cowboy shoot' tecnique suggested by 470M.

Yes, the photo somehow makes the brass look like it has a flat side. The bullets even look flat. I wonder if the scanner caused an optical illusion?

Longbob, looks like a shadow from the lamp in the scanner? I've done others of single rounds and they looked symetrical(I miss that spell checker!)

Canuck,

I thought I recognized the 375 H&H, and I figured the middle one was your Taylor, but the others baffled me.

Do you own a 450 and 416 Rigby?

Hi Canuck.
I'll go for:
500 a-square, 450 Dakota (Rigby), 416 Taylor, 375H&H, 450 Marlin (or.458 American.2")but I think the belt is wider than the others, so I'll go for the 450 Marlin. As Mike375.

460wby,

I think you might be right on the 450 Dakota/Rigby rather than 416 Rigby.

Sorry guys, I have been negligent in responding. Nursing a bit of a flu.

Mike375 and 460WBY, you guys are darn close, but we keep missing the same one. #2 from the left is not a 450 Rigby or a Dakota.

So to answer the question, with a question, here is another picture for guesses... (the tough one is in there )

Don, No I don't own any variety of Rigby...yet. But I am working on it. Tis the gunshow season, and I am in the market for an action. Gotta keep Mr. Leeper busy you know.

Mike, You got the one that has been eluding you guys, so I may as well let the cat out of the bag. The last picture posted is actually, from left to right: 416 Rigby, 450 Rigby and 470 Mbogo (which is a 470/416 Improved).

Quite a happy little Rigby family, eh? Thanks to 470 Mbogo for the last pic.

Canuck
