Thanks, Nick. I also sent two Jack Lott pieces,
"Double Rifles Are Accurate" and "Double Gun Actions" but they bounced back seeming to indicate you need to make room in the inbox?
I will try again if you will be so kind as to post them.

These are from the 1973 G&A Annual, and the quality of the typography was not as good back then, but they are rich in information and history.

Finding that journal on your recommendation was heartwarming. It hit the newstands while I was cloistered away as a West Point plebe, just after Richard Nixon decided to start withdrawing from Viet Nam.

That little void in my life has now been filled. I am caught up on the 1973 G&A Annual, heretofore missed out on.

That's exactly what the finding and posting these old articles are all about! thumb

Will do after I get back from the range. Gotta go test fire for iron sights on the .510 JAB.

Yes I am going to live dangerously and shoot a 1600 pound bull bison with a rifle using a (gasp) rebated-rim cartridge like the .500 A-Square!

It's high fenced in the woods of western Kentucky.

But if I flub the first shot and the bison gets mad and charges, and I have to shoot again quickly, will I get in a jam?

I do this only to even the odds for the bison, use a rebated-rim cartridge, you know.

Articles sent ... I hope.

.510 JAB is zeroed at 50 yards, 3-shot cloverleaf within 1/2" of where I point it, with iron sights: A Wisner copy of the Pre-64 Winchester African rear sight with a square notch and filed flat top on the single leaf, and an NECG Masterpiece front with gold patridge perfection.

The sights were filed in and perfected by me long ago, and the McMillan stock on this BRNO makes it hold zero.

570 grain Barnes XLC .509" bullet at 2450 fps from the 23" barrel with no brake (TSX's soon coming).

Rifle weighs 10.75 pounds bare.

The .510 JAB rides again.

Look out Mr. Bison. You will soon be burger ...

If only the rebated rim doesn't get me killed.

Love re-reading those old articles, can remember when they came out.

Makes one wonder why some thing as simple as the 460G&A didn't catch on.
