Does this look right? Mod70 Ejector...
Here are pics of the ejector blades on my Mod 70s. The big blade is on an 06 and the small black one is on my 375, is this right?

The 06 ejects fine but the 375 is anemic on the last round especially, either pops it straight up and into the scope, or just barely pops it over the side. Only rarely does it eject with authority like the first three rounds.

Dear Baxter:

You might want to re-post this in the gunsmithing forum.

I've had about 7 or 8 pre-64 and classic Winchester Model 70's, but I've never seen an ejector as pictured in your 375 that looked like that one.

It might just require a new part from Brownells to solve your problem.

Sincerely,

Chris Bemis

I just looked at the 3 Win M70s I have that are in 300 RUM, and two of the 500 MDMs, made from those rifles, and they all have bigger, taller blades on them, nothing like what you show for the 375. More like the 30/06 one.

???????

Yes, I would look at replacement of that.

Michael

Baxter,

Check and make sure the sear pin isn't driven in too far. It may be dragging on the pin.

Sam,

Sorry, I should delete this post. I started another one in Gunsmithing with more pics etc.

But it sure does look like it's being held up though doesn't it? in fact it's not. Took the gun apart last night and it comes up as far as it can based on the geometry of the part and the corresponding parts on the action. I have an ejector coming from Winchester (free, after I explained the deal) and We'll see what it looks like.
