Fired the No. 1 Lott bone-stock with 500-grain Hornadys over the weekend, and recoil was pretty brisk. Being a recoil sissy, I just finished installing a Kick-Eez pad (had to plug the Ruger holes with dowels and re-drill), and added my own patented inertia device (7 1/2 inches of .165 lead wire wrapped tightly around a 3/8-inch dowel a over-wrapped with duct tape for a tight fight). The unmodded rifle was a hair over nine pounds, and now it is just a hair over 10. Should be considerably more pleasant to shoot.

Overkill: That's a mighty handsome Tropical you have there. I like the matte finish. Did SSK build it for you?

Yes they did a couple of years ago. I like the matte black as well instead of the matte hard chrome JD recomended, although hard chrome is a very good finish.
