This fun post means I guess, write it all down.
Some on here think I have stole cartridge ideas.
And it is becoming a funny deal, so here is a
joking way to solve it. You got to mention
it first somewhere in writing.

So here is a list of my big bore stuff with
with the lengths involved.Will doing this preclude
folks claiming stuff by changing the lengths
in the future??

The 499HE, rimmed straight case made from
475#2 ,every length is my ideas. But as of
DEC 15 09-- It will be made from 450#2 cases,
which when I made cases back in the 90s I wanted, but
couldn't find any. This is as per a suggestion by Jack
and others and the finding that we now have a big
supply of 450 #2 and no run made of 475 #2 that was
supposed to be.

585 Short HE, straight rimless case, from 505 Gibbs brass
headspacing on mouth and extractor, all lengths my ideas.

585 HE, belted straight case, made from Nyati brass or
Nyati clones, .630-640" base, belt .650-660", all lengths
from 3.1" on up, are my ideas. All lengths below 2.93"
are my ideas, when I was experimenting with the short HE
All those in between 2.93" and 3'1" like Boomies
3" belong to him and others even though his original wasn't
from Nyati case. But it must be from a Nyati heft case to
be the best with good radius in inside corner and good taper.

700HE- belted straight case, made from bmg brass with bases
.750-780", belts .765-.800", any size rim, from 3.1" on up,
are my ideas. Shorter ones like the 3 " 700DA is others.
They can be up to 4.35" max without adding on more length.
And adding on more length is my idea also, on all
these cases.

877HE- Belted straight case, with .960" base, .985" belt,
any size rim, made from 20mm Oerlikon brass,
all lengths my ideas. They are 4.35" max without soldering
or gluing on or epoxying on more, which are my ideas too.

Now you can take any of these and neck them down and it is
your name, I don't claim necked cases. You can't Ackleyize my
cases, as that is one of my ideas, you must neck
them down first to put another name on them.
You can't put straight sections on cases up on the mouth
of cases and claim it, as that also is my ideas.

And speaking of what is..... in 99 at the Shot Show,
Johnny Roland interviewed me for his show, with a 3" belted
700 case in my hand along with 458HE, 510HE, and 585HE.
The show ran on satellite tv feed.. This was the
period when we started experimenting with bmg cases
by cutting cases at the shoulder(3") and putting belts on BMGs.
I'd already had been belting smaller cases for 6-7 years.
As I went further along my math showed me cases needed to be
longer to get power I wanted.And I figured how to expand cases
and do belt also, making the long case. On a later satellite
feed we had a bunch of our wildcats and included was different
lengths of belted 700 cases up to 3.5" . By the time
I got on here I had them up to full 3.87" length.During these
early years I never pushed the 700s as I figured I'd never
be able to afford or find barrels and or afford and find
big enough actions.
At first, like I had done on all my smaller wildcats,
I annealed and used expanders up to the time we started
12ga FH, and after I fireformed the 12ga FH and got procedure
worked out, I set up barrel with a cap for the 700HE long and
fireformed them and for shorter ones cut them off.

So it is in writing for whatever it is worth.
Not much I feel. Remember RJ the crooked gun writer,

Well it's kind of a funny deal like like
the picture in other PH thread. Maybe helps
get rid misunderstandings, and really if
there has been any I'm sorry if I contributed
to that by not keeping things clear.Ed

PS-Another wild thing that needs on paper is I'm first
one to use RE17 powder in shotgun cases and write
it all up over the net on forums.
