Finished 270 grain load development for my unaltered Ruger African with 23" barrel. RL 15 worked very well for the 270's. Barnes TSX grouped best @ 2655 fps loaded at 3.312" OAL. I don't have any published data for RL 15 and this bullet so I don't know where it falls in relation to max pressure. Neither the brass or primers showed any of the characteristic overpressure indications. The Hornady SP RP liked 73 grains (or 0.4 grains under the published max load)of RL 15 @ 2670 fps. The bullet was crimped in the canaleur with OAL as long as I could make it. Velocities were measured +50 above sea level and about 95 deg F. Both loads were were roll crimped. At one hundred yards, POI is a little different between the bullets but only a few clicks. The above loads appear safe in my rifle. I don't know about any other firearms. I'm very impressed with this rifle! Cliff NRA Life Member CMP Distinguished Rifleman NRA Master, Short and Long Range

Cliff, congrats on your .375 Ruger. Looks like a keeper. Off subject, when you had the trigger work done on your Sabatti by DM, how did that turn out. I am thinking of having them lighten mine. Mike

Hi Mike, Yes the Ruger is going to be a favorite. As far as the Sabatti, their work definitely made the triggers better and the rifle easier to shoot. Still not what I would call excellent but good enough for hunting. Cliff NRA Life Member CMP Distinguished Rifleman NRA Master, Short and Long Range

My 375 Ruger African groups the Speer 270 gr BTSP into .75 inches with 72gr of RL 15 and Rem 9 1/2M primers. I am going to look at stepping up the load to 73grs and 74grs to look for pressure signs and see if accuracy improves because I believe the 72gr load is near the minimum. Barstooler

Looks like to me you have that gun figured out, no need for anything better than that. Now you need a 300 gr. bullet load and your ready for bear... I like the 300 gr. bullets in the .375 if I want less weight I grab my .338 or 300 H&H..but for a one gun do it all that Ruger African is the berries.
