Yes! Floorplate mag for 4 Rigbys or 5 375 H&H/458 Lotts down would be fantastic Big Grin A secure trigger bow floorplate release would be nice IMO. Keep it reliable and Murphy proof!

Welcome to the forum Bitterroot. You have already made a contribution as it is good to have another person on The boards who has practical experience and is willing to share.

Rich,

They are Talleys which Ed at AHR recommended to me as being the best fit to the CZ integral bases.

My PH used them on his 375 CZ also. His scope returned to zero almost perfectly but mine only get you on paper at 100 yards, about +/- 6 inches, so you do still have to re-zero but can do so in a couple shots.

I do need the Weisner floor plate. If anyone has one please post a picture.

FYI...The TALLEY'S worked great for me in Africa and I removed scope for trip over and reinstalled in camp..Scope was right on (Zebra at 139 yds w/600OK!)They now have them in 30mm too, with,or w/o Levers for QD without tools.

Bitteroot, I now have a 700 AHR ordered through Ed. You guys are killing me! First a 600 OK, now a 700 AHR, at least Ed tells me you are not thinking of an 800 right now. Thank God. A guy can only afford so many big blasters at a time! My 700 will be heavier at 15 to 16 lbs. Tom, you sure love the lite ones don't you?

Good for you Bigdoggy. The 700 ought to be a real smasher. I just shipped a 15 1/2 lbs. 600 OK with our forward mounted scope that shot real sweet during an extended test of the QD rings on our quarter rib. I'll be the first one to shoot the beast and I'll give you a report if I can remember my password to this site.
No moss growing here. We are building the first 585 AHR as we type and brass for it will arrive any day. We also have some cool new stuff for the guys who send in their factory CZs for conversion/upgrades. I'll post some pictures soon.
Tom, we have'nt heard much about GRIZZILLA; how is she?

SAFARIKID, I saw the pictures of the hogs Tom. Poor little piggies. I can just imagine what your guide thought of that rifle. Grizzilla weighed 8 1/2 pounds naked on my scale. She's the only one that I have not shoulder fired during testing.

Bitter root,
My 600 O.K. only weighed 11.5 lbs at first. After sending it back, it weighed 13lbs 9 OZ.. Will it be a problem to get the 700 up to 16 lbs? It will have a 1/4 rib and scope, but I want a full 16 lbs with it, as I will be shooting max loads through it. Thanks

Bigdoggy, 16 lbs. should be attainable. We will put lead in the butt-stock and inlet some in the forearm possibly. We don't use recoil reducers anymore; we've found that anything over a 500 just overpowers them. Weight is the best.

Bitteroot,
Are you telling me my recoil reducers in my 600 are useless???

They help some, but solid mounted wt is best.
I have 585HE Enfield with thumbhole stock lead
in the butt and forearm, weighted up to
17 lbs. Gets 13,000 ft lbs and
handles recoil easy.
Bitteroot is the 700AHR belted, and how
bigis the base, how long is the case?Ed

bigdoggy,
They are not useless. They still add weight to the rifle which is what is needed. Our opinion is that adding dead weight is just as effective as the recoil reducers. No scientific measurements here, just opinion from shooting so many of them. The boys who designed the reducers really didn't have us ( 600 and 700 shooters )in mind when they made them. The reducers really help on rifles and shotguns with high recoil velocties,ie. 7mm mag, 300 mag, and the like. This topic would be good fodder for a new thread to see what others think, although there aren't that many 600 shooters out there.

I can't really complain, that x-brake works wonders. The 2300 ft/sec loads were no problem with it on. It really does tame the recoil. I just want the 700 at 16 lbs the first time around. For me the 600 OK at 11 1/2 pounds was too lite to push the hotter loads through. I guess that is more to Tom's liking.I like the hotter loads, but I want a heavier rifle to shoot them with.
