Picked up my 376 today and cant wait to shoot it. Looks and feels better than I expected. Just have to wait for the ammo to get here and I'm off. I'd like help in finding a place to get another mag for it. I got the gun from CDNN, but they have none. Any suggestions? Wanna sell me one of yours? Thanks.

Diamond Trail Shooters Supply has just been named Steyr's USA parts and service vendor. Their web site is:

Welcome to the forums...

Eric, Hunter Jim, me, and others have posted loads and recomendations on the steyr...

For north america, I am suggesting the hornady 225 sp, which was designed for the 376 and it's higher velocities.

For REAL, i am planning on barnes X 250 grains, and Bridger bullets 250 grian solids..

With a 24" barrel, I get at or better than 375HH factory with 300 grains RNs

Bodu,

Welcome to the .376 Steyr Shooters group! [Wink]

Diamond does have the ProHunter .376 mags in stock. I haven't ordered anything from them, but they seem to be willing to please. Or I think Aleko is in the Salt Lake City area if that works better for you.

Wow, you guys are fast. Thanks for the info on mags and loads. I'll post again as soon as I can get away to throw a few downrange. I'm debating on what scope to get now. I like Leupold because of the eye relief issue, but have also heard Burris makes good safari scopes. Also a question of mounts. Do you guys use QD setups? Any suggestions? Thanks again.

I have bought mags from CDNN, Diamond, and Aleko at heritage arms. CDNN had the best deals before is getting low on availability. Diamond was ok but took awhile. Aleko had them to me in a little over 2 weeks even after importing them. Thanks Aleko. If you use Diamond there are 2 buisness's running out of their building so specify who you need to talk to. I will use Aleko at Heritage Arms for any future purchases. He went above the normal service for me when other suppliers didnt want to be bothered with a small order.

Thanks Mike. I am going to purchase through Heritage also. I think I know what I'm going to get, but what scope/mount setup do you have on yours?

Bodu,

Talley bases and rings, and a Kahles 1.5-6X42 with the #7 reticle.

I agree with Jim. That is a good setup. I have the quick release's on mine. I put a leupold 2-7 on mine but may switch the conquest 3-9 off one of my other rifles. Just a personal choice because I can use the extra magnification. Remember you need to use medium height rings, the low ones wont clear the bolt.
