I'm thinking of the leupold 1-4 vs. the 1.5-5...someone also mentioned the lightweight 2.5...want something that i can use upclose...Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...MJM Syracuse NY

Any of those would work well if it fits between the rings so that the front ring is not sitting over the objective lens.

I would go for the 1.5x5 Leupold. Sometimes the extra magnification is helpful.

Ditto GeorgeS. Anything in the 1-6 range would be perfect. I use a Leupold 4X and VX I Shotgun scope with heavy reticle on my Sako 375 H&H and they both work well. I also have several VXIII 2.5-8s that I really like, but may be a bit more than you need. Lou
