The only advantage the .577 Tyrannosaur has over anything is the coolest name ever given to a caliber. Others come close but Tyrannosaur wins.

Excellent results! I'm very happy things worked well! I always wondered how RMC machined the cases. They might have tapered the case internally near the base to provide more strength. I made my cases basically to about 0.002 below the reamer dimensions and used a boring bar with no internal case taper. I would agree though that the ring will severely effect case life. Your cases may also cause some headspace that can also cause that ring. I'll keep my eyes open for some drawn brass T-Rex cases for you. They turn up from time to time. -Rob

Honestly, I'd talk to AHR and have it re - barreled to a .6oo OK. Then you can have drawn brass cases and do 2800 fps with 750 gr bullets. Or 2400 fps with 900 gr bullets. Your call!-Rob

What about Trail Boss? At 75% loading I got 1200 fps with a 750 grain bullet. Slow but there's a bit more potential there

Yep!
He who dies with the most (biggest) toys WINS!

So, I didn't mention how the actual shooting went. The guys I went with are all into shooting sub moa, so we set up the targets at 100yds.

I shot off hand, aimed first 2 rds at a clump oh dirt in the berm and made some nice craters.

Then shot at the 12" target and got 3 for 3 on paper!
At 100 yards!
Standing!
Was all over the paper, but I hit the paper!

I've Loaded up 4 more rds with the 750 gr SP and 4rds with the 750gr Barnes TSX, all with 130grs of H4831SC.

When the weather warms up, I'll see how they group. Right now will load the turned brass with the 130gr charge to keep pressure low and extend the brass life.

Nobody want to squeeze off a round after I shot the first round! So had all the fun to myself.

I thought about the 600 OK, but figured it's not worth the risk if the receiver got cracked while rebarreling.

Thanks

The risk of cracking a already re barreled 1917 Enfield receiver is zero! They have square threads! I'd order a .600ok barrel from PACNOR and get away from turned brass as quick as you can!-Rob

All-
Had a chance a few weeks ago to shoot the reduced loads for the T-rex.

Here's a video. Hope the link works.

https://youtu.be/d4Am-0U_vA4

Was using 135 gr of H4831 behind a 750 gr Barnes SP, with Fed 215 primers and Dacron fill.

Chrono was only 1,642 f/sec, rather slower than I expected.

Using RMC turned brass so didn't want to go too hot on the pressure. Primers did look somewhat flat, not sure why.

Enjoy

Glad you guys enjoyed the video.

It was the last shot of the day. I fired about 12 rounds that afternoon and was having trouble getting it to group.

So I told the guys, "this is it, last shot" held at 12 high on the melon and hit around 4 o'clock! Distance was 50 yds.

I bought a ruger RSM in 458 Lott about 10 years ago with hopes of going on a buffalo hunt, but not sure that will ever happen.

The guy yelling in the background is my Boss, he invited myself and 2 of our Veterans to go out to the range for the day.

Everyone had a great time!

Tytanan- Sometimes you got to load them up a little toward medium speed
to get them to group ok. Too slow sometimes means open groups.
Glad you got it working ans having fun.

For tankhunter, weight the gun a little , step them up, and get
buffalo lined up sideways and hammer them 2-3 at a time..Have
the live action on y-tube. We have barrels of fun...Ed .

Glad it's worked out for you. I'm still looking for some real T-Rex brass but so far nothing showing up. Wish I had kept some. -Rob

I think the brake may look awkward. Right now it is definitely muzzle heavy!

Yeah, I did not realize about the mercury recoil reducers when I bought it. Took it home and took the action off and heard all this sloshing sounds, thought I spilled something!

Right now I only have 10 original A-Square rounds, plus the 20 shell from RMC, plus playing around trying to fire-form some 585 Nyati brass. I'll post some pics later this week.

Here's what I loaded in 4 of the RMC turned/ spun shells:

A-SQUARE - "ANY SHOT YOU WANT" MANUAL
140gr H-4831
750 Barnes SP
MV = 1908
ME = 6064
CUP = 22,200
PSI = 15,753
Using this conversion formula:
ANSI PSI = (-17,902 + 1.516 x CUP)

I haven't fired any yet, not sure if I should reduce the load a bit more.

Oh, I do need to give a shout out to Ed Hubel, he gave me some advice before I posted.

Thanks

You can use about 50 grains of UNIQUE with a 750 grain bullet.

When I load this, I use about 10 grains of KAPOK on top of the powder.

Works very well.

Thanks for the advice.
I will give it try!

Also I picked up 2 lbs of H1000.
Any thoughts for a load with this stuff?
Thanks!
