For those interested, Terry Wieland has a new book out, "Dangerous-Game Rifles". I have only just began the book, but all indications are that it will be a good one. I really enjoy Terry's writings and the premise for this book lends itself to his style easily. Basically, Terry, Finn Aagaard, Jack Carter, Terry Henley booked a hunt with Robin Hurt to test Jack's then-new Bear Claws on Cape Buff.
Lots of nice pictures too! 333 pages of text, tables, pictures, and details of hunts. Foreward by Robin Hurt.
D, Thanks for the link. I ordered it. The newest Terry Wieland book should be a good read of history, and more.
Terry is an excellent writer, who could make any subject a pleasure to read, so he is down right compelling on subjects he is passionate about, like DGR's.
I forgive him for his ignorance (or deliberate ignoring of acknowledgement of the .495 A-Square), in concocting his idea of the ultimate DGR for bolt action: A straight tapered 460 Weatherby case necked to .510 caliber.
Hey, he is just doing another RIPoff maneuver.
