I want to have a rifle built in a .505 Gibbs Wildcat (.408 Cheyenne Tactical). I've read some of the posts here to find out what action would be suitable. The CZ550 seems popular. What does a bare action cost? Can it be had that way or do I need to buy a complete rifle? It would not be used for hunting. More like a benchrest rifle which would have no home. Most 1,000 Yard BR clubs have a .40 caliber limit. (But hey.......if we had to justify these things...) Will the Gibbs case fit in my Forster Co-Ax press? Thanks, Lee

Lee, You can pick up a CZ550 large (416 Rigby) action for about $575 retail or $475 wholesale. You can buy the whole rifle for just under $700 retail. The action can be made into he 500 Jeffrey base for the rifle you are interested in. Steve

Where would I get a bare action? For the .505 Gibbs case, is it a simple matter of having a gunsmith open up the boltface to .635"?
