Hello everyone.

I was wondering if anyone of you has any experience with the .375 260gr Nosler Accubond. Nosler says it is as accurate as a BT and will penetrate as far as a partition. This seems to good to be true!!! Eeker Anyone have any experience with such bullet on bear or moose. Seems to me that one can load it up to 2800fps which would make it ideal for North American hunting.

I only hunt moose these days since I don't have much time for anything else. Anyone use such load on moose?

Pure marketing genuis!!!

You can have your cake and eat it too!!! (not!!!)

penetration and expansion are mutually exclusive. I can't believe Nosler is spouting this snake oil pitch. Where exactly are they stating this? I gonna give 'em some crap on their reloading forum.

This has been studied before. Refer to Handloader #193. See graphic below:

Increased frontal (cross sectional) area means increased resistance to foreward movement.

Simple physics here.

My exp. w/ the NAB in any caliber, is it penetrates just a bit less & expands just a bit more. Retained weight is about the same. Yeah, I think they are a lot better than a NBT.

The federal factory load with the 260 grain Accubond is very accurate in my M-70. Haven't tried them out on game yet, though.

This boar took a factory loaded federal with that bullet broadside at 20 meters and the bullet did not exit. The boar went down and barely twitched but this is not a bullet that I would consider for general use on red stag or boar. You might need more penetration if the angle of the shot dictates.

It will not come close to the penitration of the Nosler partition...but its a nice plainsgame bullet up to and probably including eland but I would always pick the partition on an expensive hunt..I have use the bal tip a little and its a neat deer bullet and a decent elk bullet for broadside shots..Another light weight bullet that works well in the .375 H&H is the Sierra 250 gr., that's a very tough little bullet, the boys around here in Idaho are fond of it and show me these perfectly expanded Sierras from their elk every year when we meet at the coffee shop.

I like the 300 gr. bullet in the .375 if I want a light bullet then I drop down a caliber and use my 338 Win or 9.3x62...

Enigma,

Look at the size of the Elk’s neck, you can see the entrance hole, the bullet scattered the spine and exited - full penetration. Animal dropped, like struck by the hammer of Thor. I used the Accubond on Feral Hogs - Killed 6 between 90 and 300 pound - Full penetration on all animals and one shot kills, neck and head shots - 2 Red Stags - same full penetration. You can't compare this bullet with a BT - Federal Rates the 260 Grain Accubond for large and dangerous game.
