Just received my new 500 Jeff brass from Jamison today. Nice looking stuff. I took out the micrometer and the CIP diagram along with a loaded Kynoch round which functions perfectly in my rifle. CLOSE! The rim thickness on the Jamison is a touch more and the "angle" of the extrator groove to the cartridge head is a touch differnt, but very close. I'm looking forward to loading some up and seeing what happens. Might be a couple of weeks though...business travel and then Dallas may keep me from the reloading bench for a while. I agree...got a sample today...damn close to specs..maybe right on! I'm sending the brass to a fellow who is not bashful about "full house plus"loads, can't wait to see how it works in the real world...but my hat's off to "Terri" engineer at Jamieson...she saw the problem and whipped ass until it was right

Duane, I agree....Terri is awesome. I had sent her some empty Kynoch brass and told her how it fit and functioned in my gun and had a few other conversations with her. She kept me informed as to their progress as I was antsy to say the least.....a 500 Jeff without brass is a big club....and I don't have any club ranges here. I hope this stuff functions as it looks. Gary: I got 100 rounds of Jamison .500 Jeffery brass on Thursday. I have been really busy and the weather here has not been the best but I loaded up three rounds with 535 grain Woodleigh round nose soft points and 110 grains of Reloader 15. Out to the range, put three in the magazine, fired them and cycled everything through. With that load, pressures were very modest and they functioned perfectly. No signs of excessive pressure at all. I'll shoot some more and let you know but it looks like the third time is the charm. Jamison got it right this time and I think the last run is actually closer to CIP spec than the Horneber brass. I am set with brass for now. ![]() Dave Dave DRSS Chapuis 9.3X74 Chapuis "Jungle" .375 FL Krieghoff 500/.416 NE Krieghoff 500 NE "Git as close as y can laddie an then git ten yards closer" "If the biggest, baddest animals on the planet are on the menu, and you'd rather pay a taxidermist than a mortician, consider the 500 NE as the last word in life insurance." Are they trading folks out of the old stuff? I've got at least three boxes of 2006(ish) vintage from them.

Gary, haven't had a chance to shoot it across the chronograph yet. As soon as I can, I will let you know. I sent you a PM about the .500/.416. I spoke with Terri Shoup at SHOT, her business card indicates shes the Operations Manager at Jamison. She knew exactly what was going on with it, took the time to explain the situation and what has been done to resolve it, and has graciously offered to replace it all. Plus I got a nice review of what else they were offering - and found out they've got a mess of Gibbs basic brass laying around that someone didn't end up taking!
