Hi All,

This may be a dumb question but can I increase my Ruger to hold 5 down instead or three? I know it's not really needed but if I could why not. If so, can anyone recommend a gunsmith near San Antonio and about how much should it cost? Thanks in advance

Probably take a new stock and new bottom metal. I wouldnt think it would be difficult to accomplish, only very expensive. Like 2-3k expensive if you needed a new stock. Cheaper if someone makes a larger sized bottom metal that may contour to fit the exisitng stock. I would ask Jeffeso in gunsmithing, he knows Rugers inside and out.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

My local gunsmith did an extended magazine box on a Ruger Lott for about $400. It was made to hold 6 down and really took some tuning to get it to feed. I would think you can have a new floorplate made similar to what Weatherby is doing to add one more round. PM me if you would like the name of the gunsmith that did the conversion.
