Gents;I just picked up a Lothar Walther barrel blank in 475 to chamber for 470 Capstick and was wondering if all CSE actions are all magnum length or is the 458WM a standard lenght.Does it make any difference which calibre I get to suit the 470 Capstick or would there be a preference eg.375H&H action. Thanks.

FWIW the M-70 is already chambered in .470 Capstick right from the factory.....er the custom shop that is....but you already have a barrel... IMO I'd get the .375 H&H length action as the capstick is a .375 case blown out to .470....or in other words it's a slightly overgrown .458 Lott. However.....the capstick can be made on the standard .458 length action but it must be opened up (lengthened).....I'd not want to do that however there's folks that do it and a superb job of it as well. Add some stock bolts to the safari express stock if there's not two of them already..... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." mix, The action lengths are the same, but the .375H&H won't require as much 'opening up'. George
