Folks considering the above mentioned scope on a cz 550 safari mag .416 but the tube on this model looks lite on for mounting real estate due to the action length of the cz 550 magnum. Rings used would be Warne qd's anyone know with 100% certainty that this scope would fit on a cz550 magnum ? Thanks.

You will almost certainly need an extended front ring. I had the same problem with my Mauser due to the sculpted rings and qd rings I wanted to use. I got a longer scope because I really like the rings and bases.

Watch the eye relief too. S&B' s sometimes aren't too generous in that department. Had a few that wouldn't work on hard kickers. No finer scope though imho. I'm what you call your basic famous.

Yes the new 1-8 exos looks good but eye relief is 3.52" only.... Thanks folks.

On CZ550 416 Rigbys, the Nikon Monarch 2-8 fits, just barely. It has a 4" eye-relief throughout and works well in 416 even at full capacity handloads (6200ft# muzzle energy). the Nikon Inline 3-9 has a better eye-relief, 5" throughout, but it requires the CZ mount, since its mounting length is only 4.73". Both scopes may be among the most rugged available, distinctly more than Leupold's reputation. Hope the picture works after Photobucket extortion threats. +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.

Photo didn't work, thanks for the ideas....I do have a 2.5-10x32 compact nxs I could mount on it, I know these scopes work on .416's and it's good glass and tough.......just doesn't look right on a wood blued gun as they have a tactical style to them. Should I not worry about the "Look" and just use this compact nxs if I purchased a SB I'd maybe sell this scope to help pay for it.
